General Info: Orientation
Upon arrival, participants are accommodated in a small, centrally-located hotel for two nights to get over jet lag and become familiar with their city before being introduced to their homestay families.
During the first two days following arrival, orientation takes place—including a brief language class, walking tours, an introduction to transportation systems, shops, cafes, and to one another at a group lunch.
Siena is a very unusual little city, easy to comprehend and intimate. Automobile traffic is banned in the historic center. Within two days, participants are already beginning to feel at home.
The Métro system allows broad access to Paris and is easy to navigate. The best way to get to know the city, of course, is on foot from neighborhood to arrondissement.
