Paris: Daily Schedule
Breakfast with one's French family and perhaps a quick espress or chocolat chaud and croissant in a café.
French conversational language classes.
Lunch on one's own or with a fellow sojourner, or with one of the Directors. "Noon hour" in Paris can be a two hour break honoring the leisurely approach to meals which is still a part of even urban contemporary French life.
Once a week: communal group luncheon at Paris Sojourn's Centre, the program's centrally located headquarters. Participants receive "hands-on" culinary instruction in preparing these luncheons.
Guided group discussion one afternoon a week.
Creative writing tutorial every other week.
Individually scheduled art, music, sports, etc. activities.
French Cultural seminar one afternoon a week and an art history seminar one or two afternoons a month.
Midweek group excursions one afternoon a week are to notable destinations, such as Versailles, Fontainebleau, or Monet's home and water garden at Giverny.
Intermittent afternoon wine and cheese tastings and cooking classes.
Dinner is with the homestay families.
There are also orchestral concerts, lectures, sporting events, and theatrical performances. An introduction to these is included as part of Paris Sojourn's comprehensive program.
A classic French film is screened at the Centre every week or so. There are also movie theaters, café night life, clubs, discos, and many places to hear live music of all sorts.
