Program: Social Service

When Social Service is daily and sustained, it rises above simply "giving back." Working with others in situations of real need modifies and enlarges ones' perspective. It is a touching experience to be needed, and useful.
Social Service in another culture reinforces conversational language skills in real world situations. It also deepens ones cultural experience, enabling one to feel that one belongs there.
Sojourners customarily work with the disabled, elderly, children: in schools, health facilities and social service agencies. All placements are with established community organizations.
