Siena: Living Accommodations
The ideal way to learn about Italian life and language is to live with an Italian family.
Siena "sojourners" are placed with carefully selected Sienese families, usually within a few minutes walk of the center of the City. The low-keyed Sienese affability makes easing into a family a pleasant experience.
Participants and their Italian family members form warm and delightful relationships. Farewells at the end of each session are predictably poignant.
These families provide an intimate taste of Italy, of Siena and of their local contrada (i.e. neighborhood). One's souvenir Palio scarf, a replica of the particular contrada flag, gradually becomes a prized possession. (Apartment living can be arranged for older participants.)
