Siena: Daily Schedule
Breakfast with one's Italian family and perhaps a quick cappuccino in a caffè.
Italian conversational language classes.
Lunch on one's own or with a fellow sojourner, or with one of the Directors. "Noon hour" in Siena is a two hour break, a major time of the day in Italy.
Once a week: communal group luncheon at Siena Sojourn's Centro, the program's centrally located headquarters within the city walls. Participants receive "hands-on" culinary instruction in preparing these luncheons.
Guided group discussion one afternoon a week.
Creative writing tutorial every other week.
Individually scheduled art, music, sports, etc. activities.
Italian Cultural seminar one afternoon a week and an art history seminar one or two afternoons a month.
Group excursions into rural Tuscany to a quaint hill town, a monastery, an old church, a winery, or a local farm, every other week.
Intermittent afternoon wine and cheese tastings and cooking classes.
Dinner is with the homestay families.
There are also orchestral concerts, lectures, sporting events, and theatrical performances. An introduction to these is included as part of Siena Sojourn's comprehensive program.
A classic Italian film is screened at the Centro every week or so. There are also movie theaters, café night life and two discos in Siena.
